Ben Hunt’s future with the Dragons reportedly hinges on whether the new coach wants to pick him at halfback or at hooker.
The 33-year-old is the Red V club’s best player and is currently contracted until the end of 2025 after signing a lucrative extension in October 2022.
According to The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio, Hunt will request an immediate release if the Dragons’ new coach attempts to move him in to dummy-half long term.

That is despite his success in the role for both Queensland and the Kangaroos, winning last year’s World Cup as a starting hooker.
