Ryan Papenhuyzen has opened up on just how much that nasty head knock has impacted his game, while his coach has earmarked when he expects to get the best out of his superstar again.
Papenhuyzen copped a brutal high shot from St George Illawarra’s Tyrell Fuimaono in Magic Round. Fuimaono was sent off and copped a five-match ban for the hit, but the fallout for Papenhuyzen has been much worse.
The 23-year-old suffered a neck injury as a result of the tackle and was sidelined for 10 weeks as he battled lingering concussion symptoms.
