South Sydney solidified its spot inside the NRL’s top four and Parramatta took another step towards exiting that group in what was a tale of two finalists at Cbus Super Stadium on Friday.
The Rabbitohs barely got out of second gear and still thumped the terrible Eels 40-12 in a game that further fuels the belief Parramatta won’t make a dent in the post-season.
The Eels will make the playoffs but their form against strong teams is abysmal, and Friday night knocks them back further.
To make matters worse, Eels hooker Reed Mahoney left the field injured in the dying minutes.
