Josh Morris retires, Sydney Roosters, Brett Morris, reaction, news, updates

Josh Morris has called time on his decorated career, announcing he will retire at the end of the 2021 season.

He joins brother Brett, Boyd Cordner and Jake Friend as high-profile, senior Roosters players to call time on their career.

The Roosters centre is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but set to return in time for the finals.

Morris, who has currently played 322 NRL games, admitted he had “thought long and hard about the decision” but was “comfortable” it was the right call.

“I’ve been blessed to play 15 seasons in the toughest rugby league competition in the world. I’ve had some wonderful opportunities and made some lifelong friendships and memories along the way, right back to my junior days with the Kiama Knights,” he said.
