Storm chairman Matt Tripp is attempting to shift the NRL grand final away from Brisbane and Sydney and have the season’s finale put on at the MCG.
Tripp is currently putting together a proposal to buy the right to host the grand final given the ongoing uncertainty with the Covid-19 situation in Greater Sydney and south east Queensland.
The Daily Telegraph’s Paul Kent revealed on NRL360 on Fox League that Tripp was hoping to outbid state governments to host the competition’s showpiece event and then look to make a profit off his own back.
