A teenage boy who was admitted to hospital in the hours after an alleged home invasion that left rugby union legend Toutai Kefu fighting for life has now been charged with attempted murder.
The 15-year-old from Springfield Lakes was released from hospital on Monday, and on Thursday detectives arrested and charged the teen.
There are now three 15-year-olds boys and a 13-year-old boy each facing four counts of attempted murder following the alleged home invasion about 3am on Monday.
Police allege a group of intruders tried to steal a car from the Kefu’s Coorparoo home, leaving the sporting great with serious abdominal wounds that required lifesaving surgery after he was allegedly stabbed.
His wife and two children were also seriously injured.
