Former NRL star Michael Jennings has hit back at allegations he punched a car during a bizarre, drunken incident, with his lawyer telling a court he might have been killing a spider.
The ex-Origin outside back and premiership winner is being sued in the NSW District Court by his former wife who has accused him of abusing her throughout their relationship before their divorce in 2016.
Kirra Michelle Wilden is seeking damages for personal injuries, alleging he raped her on several occasions and verbally abused her.

She has also accused him of regularly drinking excessively and taking drugs throughout their time together.
Mr Jennings has denied the allegations and has not been charged with any criminal offences by police.
