Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has spoken for the first time since the sacking of Curtis Scott and denied the situation is a distraction for his playing group.
Scott was stood down by the Raiders after he was charged by police with assault following an incident at a Canberra nightclub in May. The club made the call earlier this week to rip up his contract despite the 23-year-old yet to have his day in court.
The Raiders sit 10th on the ladder and need to win their next two games to keep their finals hopes alive.

Stuart was adamant though that Scott’s sacking won’t have an impact on his playing group, instead saying it’s no different to what they’ve experienced throughout this season.
