Two pieces of sublime fielding by Virat Kohli lifted India to a six-run win over Australia in a T20 World Cup warm-up game on Monday.
After India posted 7-186 at the Gabba, Australia’s pursuit was stalled when Kohli produced a direct hit to run out Tim David in the 19th over. Fielding at mid-wicket, Kohli swooped when David attempted to snare a daring single, throwing down the stumps with a rocketing arm.
The former Indian captain again rocked Australia’s chase when he took a brilliant catch at long-on. Pat Cummins produced a sweet sound as he struck the ball toward the boundary, but Kohli jumped, flung his right arm above his head and clung on for a one-handed stunner.
