Blues beat Highlanders, score, results, All Blacks

After 18 years of frustration, the Blues have finally claimed victory as the Super Rugby champions once again. This win marks the first time the team has held the title since 2003. The Blues secured their victory by defeating Australia’s five franchises and narrowly edging past the Highlanders with a 25-15 win at Eden Park. Despite the Crusaders claiming the Super Rugby Aotearoa, the Blues were able to secure their title as New Zealand’s kings of Super Rugby. The Crusaders missed out on the standalone final due to a lack of bonus points, despite going through the tournament undefeated. Harry Plummer’s excellent sideline penalty gave the home side a 16-15 lead, and replacement flanker Blake Gibson scored the decisive try in the 76th minute. Plummer’s wide conversion put the result beyond doubt with a conversion to put the Blues beyond a converted try. The victory brought a sense of fulfillment and joy to the Blues and their fans who had long awaited this moment.
