Dave Rennie has resisted the temptation to throw Quade Cooper into the mix, instead keeping faith in his young playmakers as the Wallabies attempt to end their 35-year drought against the All Blacks at Eden Park.
Cooper might have dominated the headlines, but it would have been the gamble of a lifetime to reignite the 33-year-old’s career after four years at a venue that has haunted him.
Instead, Rennie has kept faith in his young playmakers Tate McDermott and Noah Lolesio, who saw the Wallabies to a tense 2-1 series win over France last month.
The Wallabies have made four changes to their starting side, with three of them forced through either internal suspension or injury.
