Kangaroos selector Laurie Daley has revealed why Panthers hero Dylan Edwards was a shock omission from Australia’s 24-man World Cup squad.
Edwards enjoyed a career-best season in 2022 which finished with a stunning grand final performance which earned him the Clive Churchill Medal.
Following a premiership-winning campaign, many tipped the 26-year-old to be included as cover for captain James Tedesco, however he was named as one of three emergency players.

Daley, who picked the Kangaroos squad alongside coach Mal Meninga and Darren Lockyer, explained Edwards’ versatility was his only negative.
