South Sydney captain Adam Reynolds has defended his teammate Latrell Mitchell following Friday’s fiery Roosters clash, declaring “no player goes out there to deliberately hurt someone.”
Fellow Rabbitoh Campbell Graham also believes there’s a place in the game for Mitchell’s “aggression and physicality” and doesn’t want to see the star fullback change his style.
Mitchell has been at the centre of some controversy after his brutal hit on Roosters centre Joey Manu — a moment that wiped both of them out for the remainder of the season.
The 24-year-old accepted a six-game ban, while Manu underwent facial reconstruction surgery on the weekend.
