Barty’s win at Wimbledon was all the more special as she marked 50 years since Evonne Goolagong-Cawley won her first title, wearing a scalloped dress in honour of her hero.

While they aren’t round numbers, Barty become the first Aussie in 46 years to win the French in 2019. Then weeks later when she became the World No. 1, she ended a 43-year drought to became the second ever Australian woman — Goolagong Cawley spent two weeks as World No. 1 in 1976 — to top the WTA rankings.
