Barty’s win at Wimbledon was all the more special as she marked 50 years since Evonne Goolagong-Cawley won her first title, wearing a scalloped dress in honour of her hero.

Then weeks later when she became the World No. 1, she ended a 43-year drought to became the second ever Australian woman — Goolagong Cawley spent two weeks as World No. 1 in 1976 — to top the WTA rankings.
