Penrith star Nathan Cleary cleared of serious finger injury after hospital visit

Penrith confirmed Nathan Cleary has been cleared of a finger injury after the star halfback was sent to hospital for scans.

Cleary pulled out of training on Monday morning and was was taken to hospital for precautionary scans.

He later returned to Penrith HQ to continue preparations for Friday’s preliminary final against Melbourne. The club expects him to play against the Storm.

Five-eighth Jarome Luai was also seen participating in contact drills for the first time in a month.

Luai dislocated his shoulder four weeks ago against the Eels, with the grand final qualifier pencilled in as his most likely return date.

A call on his availability is expected to be made later in the week.
