Former government ‘never delivered’ on agriculture visa

Agriculture Minister Murray Watt says the former government “never delivered” on the agriculture visa.

He said for “all of the talk” from Nationals Leader David Littleproud about delivering the visa, they “didn’t deliver a single worker”.

“Vietnam has signed up, and we said we would honour that because it’s a concluded agreement, but not one worker actually came here,” he told Sky News Australia.

“And that was partly because the government itself was divided on it. You had David Littleproud for it, you had Marise Payne and other ministers against it – so it’s no wonder it didn’t work.”
