Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says he expects the John Barilaro saga will be referred to the Independent Commission Against Corruption following the resignation of NSW Trade and Investment Minister Stuart Ayres.
“Certainly it was an interesting timing of the resignation after a conversation with Perrottet,” Mr Clennell said.
“Perhaps Perrottet had some knowledge of the bucket Amy Brown the head of Investment NSW was about to pour on Ayres’ version of events regarding Barilaro’s appointment.
“Ayres’ story had been Brown made the appointment and he had no say.”
