Australia’s white-ball cricket captain, Aaron Finch, has undergone successful knee surgery and will be available for the ICC T20 World Cup.
Finch damaged cartilage in his right knee during Australia’s T20 series against the West Indies last month but managed to play all five matches.
After he reaggravated the injury in the final game, he was forced to fly home from the Caribbean prematurely.
He completed two weeks of hotel quarantine on arrival in Australia before going under the knife in Melbourne on Thursday night.
Finch’s wife, Amy, posted an Instagram story that showed her husband in good spirits following the surgery.
Cricket Australia told NCA NewsWire that Finch will spend 8-10 weeks recovering from the surgery but should be available for the opening games of the World Cup in mid-October.
