NBA’s Suns put up for sale by banned owner

Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver is seeking buyers for the team a week after being suspended for a year and fined $US10 million ($A15 million) by the National Basketball Association following a workplace misconduct investigation.

An independent investigation found Sarver, who bought the Suns and the women’s league’s Phoenix Mercury in 2004, engaged in inequitable conduct toward female employees, including “sex-related comments” and inappropriate remarks on the appearance of female employees.

Sarver, who co-operated fully with the investigation, was also found to have used a racial slur on at least five occasions “when recounting the statements of others”.
