Media awards in Australia brought to ‘disrepute’

The Australian media writer Sophie Elsworth says media awards in Australia have been brought to “disrepute” over the journalists keeping their Walkley Awards on the Andrew Laming story despite the story being false.

“The media awards across the country really need to have a proper procedure in place so this stops happening because its starting to be a common occurrence in the media industry,” Ms Elsworth told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
