Social media has blown up deluxe after Marika Koroibete’s red card against France in the third Test decider in Brisbane.
After France banged over an early penalty, Koroibete charged down the left-hand edge of the field and smashed number eight Anthony Jelonch, who dropped the ball in the hit.
Jelonch fell to the ground, grabbing at his face, before getting up quickly as play initially looked to continue.
But then, as expected, the Television Match Official was brought in.
Replays showed Jelonch slightly drop to brace for contact.
New Zealand referee Ben O’Keeffe discussed the tackle with his officials, where they came to the conclusion there was “no significant mitigating circumstances”.
