There will be much scrutiny of Manchester United in preseason as the Erik ten Hag era gets underway.
United endured a woeful 2021/22 campaign as they finished in sixth place in the Premier League, with Ralf Rangnick’s stint as interim boss not working out as expected.
Ten Hag’s preparations for the new season haven’t been helped by the uncertainty over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has reportedly asked to leave the club if a suitable offer is made. Ronaldo was given permission to miss the start of preseason training with United.
There is a packed preseason schedule for the Red Devils, though, which will give Ten Hag plenty of opportunities to assess his squad — and bed in any new signings.
