Major champion Hannah Green locked in to play historic Australian Open in December

Major champion Hannah Green will be spruiking the merits of playing this year’s historic Australian Open to the best players on the planet after confirming she’ll be coming home to play in December.

Green, the world number 19 and 2019 PGA champion, is the first of the big name women to commit to this year’s event which will see the male and female Opens played on the same course at the same time, but as separate championships, with the final two rounds to be played at Victoria Golf Club in December.

While British Open champion Cameron Smith has declared his intention to play he’s yet to lock it in officially and Green’s fellow major champion and world number two, Minjee Lee, is also yet to confirm her commitment to the tournament.

But with the women’s event co-sanctioned with the LPGA Tour, Green is hoping the world’s best female players return to Australia as they did…
