The AFL will investigate an off-the-ball strike from Majak Daw that prematurely ended Mason Cox’s season on the weekend.
Players from Hawthorn, Collingwood and the Demons were competing in a scratch match when Cox was hit across the throat by Daw’s swinging right arm.
Foxfooty.com.au has obtained the footage of the incident from a centre bounce in the third quarter. It appears to be unprovoked and Mason Cox can be seen remonstrating with Daw immediately afterwards.

On Tuesday, Collingwood confirmed Cox had suffered a bruised larynx from the hit and would be unavailable for selection this weekend.
He will also be limited to “low-level activity” for the next two or three weeks, according to Pies high performance boss Kevin White.
