Kent State men’s basketball team wins big in Australia

The Kent State men’s basketball team opened its Australia tour by routing the Inner West Bulls 98-56 on Saturday. 

The Golden Flashes led 9-0 out of the gate and 29-9 after one quarter, then continued to pull away for the remainder of the contest. 

Senior guard Sincere Carry led the way with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, and dished out eight assists. Junior guard Giovanni Santiago scored 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field, while sophomore forward Cli’Ron Hornbeak added 14 points and six rebounds. 

Senior guard Malique Jacobs played just seven minutes before chipping a tooth following a dunk. 

“It was great to play,” said KSU head coach Rob Senderoff. “We had a lot of positives, and some things we can take and learn from. Games will be tougher as we go, so hopefully we can continue to improve throughout the trip.”
