Kent State men’s basketball team wins big again in Australia

The Kent State men’s basketball team rolled to its second straight exhibition win in Australia on Tuesday, defeating the host Brisbane Capitals 103-57. 

Star senior guard Sincere Carry led the Golden Flashes in scoring for the second straight game, finishing with 22 points, while freshman guard Brendan Moss added 18 points. Several other players turned in strong efforts according to head coach Rob Senderoff. 

“(Freshman forward) Ricco Gillespie had nine rebounds. (Junior forward VonCameron Davis) scored the first 11 points of the game. (Redshirt freshman guard) Julius Rollins had five steals,” said Senderoff. “A lot of positives from this game.” 

Davis scored 11 points while Carry totaled 10 in the first quarter, helping Kent State race to a 38-12 lead. The Flashes were up 59-34 at the half behind Carry’s 17 points and four assists, then pushed the cushion to 30 at 78-48…
