Newcastle Thunder winger Jack Johnson suffered one of the most gruesome training injuries in rugby league history after copping a stray knee from a teammate.
Centre Isaac Nokes’ knee accidentally collided with the 26-year-old’s groin, which prompted laughter from the squad — until the extent of Johnson’s injury was revealed.
Johnson suffered a ruptured testicle, which swelled to the size of a tennis ball before it had to be surgically removed.
