Phil Mickelson was absolutely furious at fans noisily using their phones as his bid for a career Grand Slam got off to a poor start in the US Open first round.
Mickelson hit a four-over-par 75 – including a wild bogey at 13 where phone noises stopped him from hitting his second shot THREE times in a row.
“Put it on silent, please,” he pleaded the first time.
“PLEASE,” he said after the second interruption.
“Seriously?” he snapped when it happened a ridiculous third time. A police officer quickly stepped in to give the fan a talking-to.
“I don’t understand why you just can’t turn that little button on the side into silent,” Mickelson said after the round.
“You have to learn to deal with it. I probably didn’t deal with it internally as well as I could have or as well as I need to.
“It’s part of playing the game out here…
