Super League latest news, PGA of America chief executive Seth Waugh warns players

PGA of America chief executive Seth Waugh has already warned rising young stars against rich offers from upstart Super League Golf, pitching career building versus a quick money grab.

Waugh said Tuesday his pitch to stay with the PGA Tour format is a simple warning about short-term profits and long-term benefits.

“Particularly for younger players that are going to have a 20-year career out here, I just don’t think they’re going to be better off in that format than they already are,” Waugh said Tuesday.

“I’ve talked to a bunch of them. You look them in the eye and just say, ‘Be careful what you wish for,’ because short-term gain feels good for a little while, but long-term gain is what makes lives.”
