The golf world was riding the highs and lows all the way as Phil Mickelson created history.
At age 50, Mickelson became golf’s oldest major winner as he secured his sixth major title in a rollercoaster final round at the PGA Championship.
In what was described as “pure bedlam” in the broadcast, fans swarmed Mickelson as he made his way through the 18th hole at Kiawah Island.
Seeing that golf tournaments had for so long been without crowds, the world was quick to react to the insane images.
At one point Mickelson had to push his way through the mob of people as cheers rang through from the crowd, which was limited to 10,000 people by COVID-19 safety measures.
