Fresh from claiming his sixth major, Mickelson became the sport’s oldest major champion by claiming a two-shot win over Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island.
His victory came eight years after winning The Open at Muirfield, where he held off Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Tiger Woods to claim an unlikely victory with a final round five-under.
On Monday, the 50-year-old held off Koepka and Oosthuizen in an enthralling, rollercoaster final round where Mickelson held his nerve despite crucial missed putts on 15 and 16.
