Cameron Smith will try to set a world record in Brisbane

British Open champion Cameron Smith is not coming home just to win the Australian Open and PGA. He also wants to set a new world record.

Smith is returning to Australia for the first time since the 2019 Presidents Cup and returns as a major champion, world No.3 and part of the LIV Golf league’s revolution for the sport.

The Queenslander, who won the Australian PGA Championship back to back in 2017 and 2018, is going to take his Open trophy on a mini-tour, including to his home club of Wantima.

But also while he’s in Brisbane, the 29-year-old wants to to break the Guinness World Record for the largest golf lesson with his coach, PGA professional Grant Field.

The pair will attempt to enter the record books at the Royal Queensland driving range on November 20, hoping up to 1200 people may turn up for tips from Smith, who is coming off a career year that also included victory at The…
