Adam Scott on Monday (AEST) missed a four-foot putt in a playoff to win the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship in what would have been just his second title in more than five years.
The event was instead won by Kevin Kisner, who was winless in five prior US PGA playoffs, while Scott had never lost in extra holes in America — most notably winning the 2013 Masters in a playoff.
Kisner birdied the second extra hole on Sunday to win the record-tying six-man playoff, pocketing a cool $1,152,000 (A$1.6m) in the process.

Scott had to settle for a five-way share of second, worth $389,440 (A$530k).
At the first playoff hole, the Australian striped a 330-metre bomb off the tee before a dialled-in wedge left him with just a four-foot birdie putt.
