A teenage girl is fighting for life in hospital after collapsing during a soccer game in Surfers Paradise overnight.
Ava Azzopardi is understood to have suffered a “serious medical incident” after taking to the field at the Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club around 6.30pm on Friday.
Nine Queensland Ambulance crews, including critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit, responded to the incident.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the 14-year-old was treated at the scene before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
Football Gold Coast has since released a statement on Facebook, confirming Ava is now in an induced coma.
