Western Bulldogs injury list, Tim English not an A-grade ruckman says David King

Dual premiership Kangaroo David King has detailed an “exposed flaw” in the Western Bulldogs’ game, claiming the absence of an “A-grade ruckman” could cost them dearly in their bid to claim the AFL premiership.

The Bulldogs on Sunday lost just their fifth game of the AFL season, going down to Essendon by 13 points at Marvel Stadium.

While the Dogs won the contested possession count, they lost the clearance count to the Bombers – and by a lot (-16). It was just the fourth time this season the Dogs, who have a star-studded midfield brigade, had lost the clearance battle in a game.

But most alarmingly was the Bombers’ ability to hit the scoreboard from stoppages, booting 11.4 (70) from clearances – clearly the most points the Dogs had conceded from that source this…
