The Western Bulldogs’ greatest strength is quickly becoming their Achilles heel at the worst time of the year, according to several Fox Footy commentators.
The Bulldogs have dropped their past two games to Essendon and Hawthorn, resulting in them sliding out of the top two on the ladder for the first time since Round 2. A loss to Port Adelaide this weekend – and a big Brisbane win over West Coast at the Gabba – could see the Dogs drop out of the top four.
When the Dogs were humming during the start of the season, they were among the league’s best contested possessions sides. But since the mid-season bye, they’ve become a middle-of-the-road side at the coalface.
