The West Australian’s AFL player ratings and AFL Coaches’ Association have one thing in common – Nic Naitanui just pipped David Mundy as the best WA-based player this season.
Naitanui, the West Coast ruckman who was selected in the All-Australian team for the third time, polled 146 points in The West’s weekly rating system to beat the Fremantle veteran by just two.
He was level with Mundy going into the final round of the season but was rated 8/10 for his remarkable ruck display in the loss to Brisbane.
Mundy received six points in the loss to St Kilda to finish with 144.
