The GWS Giants have caused one of the biggest upsets of 2021, stunning a flat Geelong outfit to produce, what coach Leon Cameron dubbed, “as brave a win I’ve seen since I’ve been at this footy club”.
Despite the Cats’ frightening recent form and the Giants losing 942 games worth of experience in the lead-up, Cameron’s troops delivered their third straight win over the Cats to jump back into the top eight.
The Giants skipped out to a 38-point lead midway through the third term then held off a fast-finishing Cats outfit to win by 19 points, 3.6 (84) to 8.17 (65).
