Triple premiership Lion Jonathan Brown has clarified his criticism of – and suggestions for – Richmond forward Tom Lynch after his comments set off a chain of fiery responses.
During the second quarter of Fox Footy’s broadcast of Saturday’s Richmond-North Melbourne clash, Brown urged Lynch to “get up the field” to get himself into the game, suggesting Tigers coach Damien Hardwick would be “tempted to put him in the ruck”. He added he hadn’t seen Lynch, who’s kicked two goals from his past three weeks, in many contests up until halfway through the second term.
Speaking to reporters post-match, Hardwick said Lynch “plays his role” by bringing the ball to ground, adding: “Tom’s a two-time premiership player. Enough said.”
