After 126 games – and 31 seconds – Jake Kolodjashnij has finally kicked his first AFL goal in the most surprising circumstances.
The Geelong defender could hardly believe his luck when he found himself free just outside the forward 50m arc during the opening moments of Friday night’s clash against the Giants.

Patrick Dangerfield kicked the ball to Kolodjashnij, who ran to just inside 50 then flushed his attempt to nail his first AFL major.
Kolodjashnij could hardly believe his achievement — but his teammates and coach Chris Scott were more in shock.
The 25-year-old had also kicked 10 behinds prior to his first goal.
