Jack Gunston Melbourne interest, Hawthorn Hawks contract

Melbourne is interested in Hawthorn forward Jack Gunston.

The 2020 best and fairest played just one senior game this season due to troublesome back injury.

Gunston is on the Demons’ radar to complement a forward-line that already boasts Tom McDonald, Luke Jackson and Bayley Fritsch.

Sam Weideman is out of contract and seemingly behind Ben Brown in the pecking order, while Majak Daw is a rookie and hasn’t played a senior match in 2021.

Foxfooty.com.au understands there was no discussion of a trade in Gunston’s exit meeting at Hawthorn, though the club is open allowing at least one older player to find a new home as it seeks to stockpile top 30 draft picks.
