Veteran journalist Caroline Wilson has blasted Hawthorn Football Club for an ongoing financial dispute with departing coach Alastair Clarkson.
Clarkson confirmed in late July he would step down as Hawthorn’s senior coach at the end of the season following a stellar 17-year stint in the role.
Despite speculation he could be in the frame for a coaching gig at Carlton, Clarkson said he was “not in the headspace” to seek out a coaching position elsewhere for next season.

According to Wilson, Hawthorn is reluctant to pay Clarkson $60,000 worth of professional development money that was contracted to the coach, despite an agreement he would receive his full entitlement.
