The final margin may’ve been 38 points in favour of the Brisbane Lions, but Saturday night’s game at The Gabba was arguably the most thrilling of the year.
Brisbane looked to have West Coast’s measure for much of the match, but the all-important margin was precarious for the Lions, with Chris Fagan’s side moving in and out of the top four no less than nine times in over the course of the match.
A brutal umpiring call against defender Tom Cole helped the Lions launch an assault on fourth spot that went down to the final seconds.
