AFL 360 co-host Gerard Whateley has warned the league against playing too great a role in luring Alastair Clarkson to the Gold Coast Suns.
Since Hawthorn announced Clarkson’s impending departure, which was slated to be at the end of 2022 but will now come at the end of the season, speculation about his future has swirled despite his current plan to spend a year out of the game.
Current Suns coach Stuart Dew joined the club in 2018, but his current contract expires at the end of next year and the side is slated to finish yet another season in the bottom rung of the AFL ladder.
