Hawthorn’s president says it was an easy call to pick the club’s new boss after he stepped in amid the fallout of the racism probe.

Klein, who stepped into the interim role following Justin Reeves’ resignation amid the Hawks’ racism probe saga in May, was appointed unanimously by a five-person selection committee, the club said in a statement on Tuesday.
Reeves took over as Hawthorn chief executive after the alleged racist incidents that were the subject of the investigation and oversaw the cultural safety review that was lashed for its messy handling by figures including former coach Alastair Clarkson, who was at the centre of the allegations.
