Former AFL player Tony Armstrong has delivered a heartfelt response to Taylor Walker’s racist comments, saying “it’s been a pretty crappy 36 hours for all Indigenous people.”
Walker was on Friday handed a six-match ban and fined $20,000 that will be donated to an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander program for making a racial slur towards North Adelaide’s Robbie Young during a SANFL match in July.
Armstrong, who played two seasons alongside Walker at the Crows in 2010 and 2011, said it hurt on a personal level being a friend of the ex-skipper’s.
