AFL news 2021, Scott Pendlebury re-signs, stays at Collingwood Magpies, new deal, extension future

Out-of-contract Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has confirmed his commitment to the club amid speculation surrounding his future.

The 33-year old raised eyebrows on Sunday when he revealed he’d consider leaving the Magpies, that are believed to have only tabled him a one-year extension, for a longer player-coaching deal at a rival club.

The Magpies skipper stressed he hadn’t yet spoken to rivals and wants to remain a “one-club player,” but that at some point he would “like to step away from that football club (Collingwood) and get some experience elsewhere” in comments that came under scrutiny.
