The battle for power at Collingwood has hit a legal snag after it’s been revealed by The Agethat a member petition was found to have incorrect wording, thus making it legally insufficient to trigger an extraordinary general meeting.
Magpies presidency challenger Jeff Browne confirmed that the petition to challenge incumbent Mark Korda has been abandoned and he will seek to split all seven direction positions at the club during its annual general meeting in December.
A petition – which has been signed by more than 1500 Collingwood supporters – was originally made by long-time member David Hatley.
