As the AFL pledges to push on with the 2022 finals series despite ‘second waves’ of Covid, Garry Lyon and Nick Riewoldt are calling on clubs to “lock down players” and limit where they can go come finals.

A total of 11 players missed Round 17 under the AFL’s health and safety protocols, including five from the Brisbane Lions.

Brisbane footy boss Danny Daly this week admitted the club had 22 cases between players and staff, and warned more positive results were looming.

Fox Footy’s Jonathan Brown said players needed to be more diligent in the run to finals to ensure they stayed healthy.
