It’s hard to imagine tennis without Roger Federer.

In the more than two decades since he stormed to worldwide attention at the 2001 Wimbledon Championships, where a then-19-year-old Federer beat four-time defending champion and all-time Grand Slam leader Pete Sampras, he has been a constant on the courts and our screens.

He broke Australia’s heart at the same tournament two years later when he defeated Mark Philippoussis for his first Grand Slam singles title.

Not that we would hold it against him.
